Age Group Program

 

Our Competitive Age Group Program provides the foundational swimming skills needed for young swimmers to reach their full potential in swimming.

 

Ages 8 and Under: Introduction to training and a technique-focused approach to building the competitive strokes and racing skills.

Discovery 1
Daily Training: 1 hour, 4 sessions / week
Swimmers know all strokes. Skill development is the primary focus.
Swimmers attend all recommended meets and 3+ practices per week.
Time Goals: National B, BB, A Times.
Equipment: Team Equipment Page.

Age Group 1
Daily Training: 1 hour, 5 sessions / week
Swimmers know all strokes. Skill development is the primary focus.
Swimmers attend all recommended meets and 3+ practices per week.
Time Goals: National B, BB, A and Zone Championship Qualifying Times.
Equipment: Team Equipment Page.

Age Group Bronze
Daily Training: 1-1.5 hours, 5 sessions / week
Experienced swimmers. Skill development is the primary focus.
Swimmers attend all recommended meets and 4+ practices per week.
Time Goals: National BB+, Zone Championships, Age Group Championship Qualifying Times.
Equipment: Team Equipment Page.

Ages 9 - 10: Advanced groups for young swimmers. Swimmers learn to train and compete at a high level while maintaining skill development as a primary focus.

Discovery 2
Daily Training: 1 hour, 5 sessions / week
Skill development is the primary focus. Training increases.
Swimmers attend all recommended meets and 3+ practices per week.
Time Goals – National B, BB, A, and Zone Championship Qualifying Times.
Equipment: Team Equipment Page.

Age Group 2
Daily Training: 1 hour 30 minutes, 5 sessions / week
Skill development is the primary focus. Training increases.
Swimmers attend all recommended meets and 4+ practices per week.
Time Goals – National B, BB A+, Zone Championships, Age Group Championship Qualifying Times.
Equipment: Team Equipment Page.

Age Group Silver
Daily Training: 1 hour 30 minutes, 5 sessions / week
Experienced swimmers. Skill development is the primary focus. Training increases.
Swimmers attend all recommended meets and 4-5 practices per week.
Time Goals – National AA, AAA, AAAA, Age Group Championship and Far Western Qualifying Times.

Ages 11 - 12: Performance groups for young swimmers. Swimmers represent Alto Swim Club at many of the most competitive Age Group meets in the country and begin to make an advanced commitment to competitive swimming.

Swimmers attend all recommended meets and 3+ practices each week.

Age Group 3
Daily Training: 2 hours, 5 sessions / week
Experienced swimmers. Skill development is the primary focus. Training increases.
Swimmers attend all recommended meets and 4+ practices each week.
Time Goals – National B, BB A+, Zone Championships, Age Group Championship Qualifying Times.
Equipment: Team Equipment Page.

Age Group Gold
Daily Training: 2 hours, 5-6 sessions / week
Swimmers begin to train at an advanced level.
Swimmers attend all recommended meets and 5+ practices each week.
Time Goals – National AA, AAA, AAAA, Age Group Championship and Far Western Qualifying Times.
