Our Name
Alto comes from our home, Palo Alto, referencing our strong connection to the community we proudly represent. The name Alto has a deeper meaning derived from the Latin word "altus," which translates to high, profound, and lofty. This symbolism was chosen to represent the athlete’s swimming journey and aspirations, working alongside a group of determined, dedicated members embarking on a challenging journey towards the summit.
In this context, reaching the summit is the ultimate goal of the Alto Swim Club, a pinnacle of achievement and success. But it is not just the destination that is important, it is the process and hard work required to reach that point. The journey to the top is marked by ups and downs, challenges and moments of triumph, all of which contribute to the profound and meaningful experience of being a member of Alto Swim Club.
