ALTO Peer Mentorship and Leadership Development Program

Alto Swim Club’s “Girls With Purpose” program is a mentorship program that pairs experienced high-performance athletes with age group swimmers. The program runs in 4-month intervals and application deadlines are communicated to the team on a quarterly basis.

Current Deadlines
Mentor Application:
Due Monday, February 10th
Mentee Application:
Due Friday, February 17th

Mentor: A High-Performance Athlete Age 15+

Our group of high school MENTORS receive a unique opportunity to explore and develop their own skills and style as a leader. Monthly MENTOR-only meetings are discussion based and include workshop-style activities, guest speakers, and exercises to develop practical leadership and communication skills.

Mentee: An Age Group Athlete Ages 11 - 14

Our 14 & under MENTEES connect with a MENTOR who inspires, motivates and cultivates confidence! MENTEES work with an older mentor on a monthly basis, in group format or one-on-one. Program goals include: develop confidence, gain tools to overcome everyday obstacles in sport and beyond, build a supportive network, transition through the age group swimming progression successfully and with determination!

Core Values

IMPACT: Mentees will forever remember the impact of a mentoring relationship.
LEADERSHIP: Positive culture through connection with an affirming role model and team leader.
EXPERTISE: Experienced athletes share first-hand knowledge.
INCLUSION: Foster honesty and respect through discussion and character building activities.
DETERMINATION: Practice problem-solving and overcoming obstacles in a supportive environment.
