Alto Senior and National Groups Complete Challenging Winter Training at the Olympic Training Center
Winter training is considered to be the most grueling period for competitive swimmers. With breaks from school, it offers swimmers the opportunity to prioritize training. This challenging week is meant to ramp up conditioning levels to new heights, in preparation for the home stretch of the short course season. Adding altitude to winter training acts as a conditioning accelerator, enhancing oxygen utilization and improving endurance capacity. The Alto Senior and National groups had an successful week of difficult training, exciting meetings with Olympic Gold Medalist, Ryan Murphy, and Australian Olympian and former Auburn Head Coach, Brett Hawke. Training at the Olympic Training Center is a unique opportunity that very few club swimmers get to experience!
