Alto Senior Swimmer of the Month: Maren Byrne

Maren Byrne had an outstanding performance at March Sectionals, including securing her first Summer Junior National Cut in the 200 M Individual Medley while setting the team record in the same event (2:18.86)! Maren also set new Alto Records in the 100 M Breaststroke (1:13.44) and the 400 M Individual Medley (4:59.77). Maren swims in the National Group. She is the current Alto record holder in 6 individual events and is listed 43 times in the Alto Top Ten Lists! Maren has a 97% season attendance record and has been to a total of 175 training sessions so far this year.

Favorite Alto Travel Memory: My first travel meet, The Utah Super Final in 2021, especially the bus ride to the airport at the end of the meet was really fun.

Pre-Race Routine: Warmup, to straight to the blocks, jump around a bit, then race.

Favorite Vacation: Going to Ireland for the first time in 2019 and getting to see my family and all the cool landscapes and ruins.

Pets: Two cats, a boy Rory and a girl named Snowy. And two fish.
