Alto Swim School Staff
Our staff all have competitive swimming experience at the club and /or colligate level and are passionate about teaching swimming to all ages and ability levels!
McKaela cannot wait for another great summer at the pool! McKaela is an alumni of Wesley College and trained in the Alto National Group. McKaela is returning for her sixth year teaching and coaching with Alto.
"I love being able to give back and share my passion of swimming with others through teaching swim lessons. My coaches have given my so many amazing opportunities and have developed my leadership skills in addition to my technical swim skills. During lessons, I want the kids to learn as much as they can, challenge themselves, have fun, and respect their teammates and others."
Alyssa trains and competes with the Alto Swim Club Senior Program and is a rising freshman at University of Hawaii. She was on the Varsity swim team at Aragon High School. She is entering her second year teaching and coaching with the Alto Swim School.
"My favorite thing about teaching swim lessons is creating a fun and interesting approach, while helping new swimmers learn the fundamentals of swimming! I work with beginners and also with competitive swimmers who want to develop better stroke technique. I'm really excited to help kids learn to love swimming as much as I do!"
Andy trains in the Alto Senior Program and swims for Gunn High School. Andy learned to swim with Alto and continues to enjoy the challenge of competitive swimming. He cannot wait to begin working with the new generation of Alto swimmers!
"I enjoy teaching swim lessons because I get to see families develop a love for swimming together. Helping young kids learn to swim is an exciting and rewarding experience for the whole family. Each lesson is an opportunity to work through challenges and learn new skills. I want every student to love swimming for life!"
Dylan loves every aspect of swimming and cannot wait to share the sport with new swimmers! Dylan trains with the Alto Swim Club National Group and swims on the Varsity team at Paly High School. He is returning for her second year teaching and coaching with the Alto Swim School.
"I love teaching swim lessons and working with kids. Swimming is an important life skill and together we can make learning fun! For some, this is the first instance where they learn to trust and truly enjoy being in the water. It is a big step! With more advanced swimmers, we focus on technique development and learning how to swim with efficient, strong strokes."
Hailey is looking forward to another great summer with Alto! Hailey trains and competes with the National Group at Alto Swim Club and for the Varsity swim team at Menlo Atherton High School. She loves getting the chance to teach and motivate beginning swimmers to take the next step in their swimming! It’s going to be a great summer!

James trains and competes with the Alto Swim Club Senior Program and is on the Paly High School Varsity swim team. His favorite part of swimming is being surrounded by people who love the sport as much as he does. James looks forward to help build strong skills with our new and beginning swimmers!
"I love being in an atmosphere in which everyone lifts each other up, I want to pass that sense of accomplishment, community, and fun onto all of those who I teach in swim lessons. I want to share my love for the sport, and help kids feel confident and enjoy themselves, while building and improving swimming skills.”
Jinu has been swimming most of his life. He trains in the Alto National Group and is on the Varsity swim team at Gunn High School. Jinu loves the Alto team culture and is motivated by everyone working together to achieve their swimming goals. Jinu looks forward to helping new swimmers achieve the same kind of improvements and success he experienced growing up on the team!
"The best part about teaching swim lessons has to be finding creative and new ways to help swimmers improve. I modify drills to fit the needs of each swimmer and to help each person learn and best retain new skills. I like to teach how to have fun while still getting faster and keeping motivation!"
Keila trains and competes with the Alto Swim Club Senior Program and with Los Altos High School Varsity swim team. Keila began swimming in elementary school and fell in love with the sport. She loves the chance to help new swimmers learn and get excited about swimming!
"Through swimming you learn goal setting, commitment and how to push through challenges. Every swim lessons is fun and exciting, and it is rewarding to see students learn to love the process. When I work with beginners, the focus is on mastering new skills. When I work with advanced swimmers, we refine technique and build strength."
Kiana loves Alto because the team builds stronger athletes within a supportive community. She loves working with the new and beginning swimmers to learn skills like bubbles, floating, and going underwater for the first time. So much can be accomplished in just a few lessons! Kiana is returning for her second year teaching and coaching.
"The best part about working with kids is constantly seeing improvement in their ability across each swim lesson. I like to focus on helping kids work towards their goals, while helping them overcome physical and psychological challenges. Most importantly, I want them to enjoy the sport as much as I do."
Maren trains in the National Group at Alto Swim Club and has been swimming for as long as she can remember! Maren is on the Los Altos High School Varsity swim team and she is a current school and Alto Swim Club record holder in several events. Maren believes that strong technical skills is the most important starting point and she can’t wait to help swimmers make big progress!
"I enjoy coaching young swimmers and helping them learn water safety while having lots of fun! It is great to work with the next generation of Altoa swimmers! Each season is an opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence, and progress to the next level. I enjoy helping kids of all ages learn to love swimming and improving their technique through swim lessons."
Mina loves swimming because it pushes her to be the best athlete possible, physically and mentally. Being a part of Alto Swim Club has really helped her with strengthening that mindset. Mina is looking forward to supporting new swimmers at every level and age!
"I think the best part of teaching lessons and working with kids is seeing them improve and succeed over time. When I teach lessons, I tend to focus on making sure each kid has fun and is learning in the process. Honing in on small details and solidifying skills they already have is essential to teaching productive swim lessons."
Roan has been swimming for as long as he can remember! Roan is entering his third summer teaching swim lessons to students at every level, from beginners up to advanced swimmers. Roan swims in the Alto Senior Program and for the Paly High School Varsity swim team.
"My favorite part of teaching swim lessons is seeing a swimmer progress throughout the summer. I like to focus on technique and making sure the swimmer is comfortable in the water alone. I love seeing how motivated our students are to get better no matter what."
Ryan trains and competes with the Alto Swim Club Senior Program and the Varsity swim team at Mission San Jose. He grew up on Alto and has experienced the team at every age and level. Ryan works to bring all of the lessons he learned into his teaching, helping to support swimmers in making big progress in each lesson!
“Swimming is a really important life skill. On top of that, it is a great way to challenge yourself and feel good about learning a new skill. I want every student to leave the lesson feeling like the accomplished something and are motivated to return the next day for more!
Scarlet trains and competes with the Alto Swim Club Senior Program and the Varsity swim team at Paly High School. She has learned so much swimming on Alto and looks forward to sharing a love for the water along with many tips and tricks for improving at each level! Scarlet is a rising freshman at California Polytechnic State University.

Yoray loves everything about swimming and wants to share her knowledge and skills with the next generation. Yoray swims in the Alto Swim Club Senior Program and for the Varsity swim team at Paly High School. She especially enjoys working with those who are just starting out and need to build confidence in the beginning skills!
