Alto Alumni Shine in Local Collegiate Dual Meets

This past weekend was an exciting one for Alto Swim Club as we cheered on two of our Alto Alumni competing at the collegiate level! It was such a blast to see Morgan and Salvador race locally here at Avery Aquatic Center (Stanford).

Morgan Hawes Represented UCLA Against Stanford

On Friday, January 17, Alto Alumni Morgan Hawes competed in the Stanford vs. UCLA dual meet. Morgan, who graduated in 2021, showcased her skill and dedication in the pool. A standout swimmer, she holds five current Alto relay records and is listed an impressive 23 times on the Alto Top 10 List.

While at UCLA, Morgan has achieved significant milestones, including two-time UCLA Director's Honor Roll and 2023 Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll. Some current season highlights include anchoring relays and earning top finishes in freestyle events. She continues to build on her foundation from her Alto days, where she trained under Coach Laura, Coach Joey, and Coach Alec.

Salvador Goya Competes in Stanford vs. USC Dual Meet

On Saturday, January 18, Alto Alumni Salvador Goya hit the pool for USC in their dual meet against Stanford. Salvador, who graduated in 2023 after training with Coach Joey and Coach Alec, has made waves in collegiate swimming. In his freshman season, Salvador established himself as a competitive force, finishing 28th in the 200-yard freestyle and 24th in the 500-yard freestyle at the 2024 Pac-12 Championships. Salvador’s Alto record is impressive—he’s listed 21 times in the Alto Top 10 Lists and holds four current team relay records.

Team Bonding at the Stanford vs. USC Meet

Saturday’s dual meet also provided an incredible opportunity for a large group of Alto swimmers to come together and watch some great racing at the Home Pool! Over 60 Alto swimmers attended the meet, and the event was all about fostering team spirit, bonding, and learning from some of the best in our sport! Events like these highlight the strong connection within the Alto family and the continued support for our athletes at all levels. Both Morgan and Salvador’s accomplishments reflect the core values of Alto Swim Club: striving for excellence, fostering growth, and celebrating the success of our community. We’re incredibly proud of their achievements and grateful for the opportunity to share their journeys with the next generation of Alto swimmers.
